Blasphemous is a tough game, so it’s not surprising that the boss battles are tough too. Warden of the Silent Sorrow is the first boss fight, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. Let’s get into it…

As we don’t yet have any ranged abilities, powerups or any other abilities of any kind, we’re going to have to go about this the old fashioned way: by swinging our sword around!

The Warden of the Silent Sorrow isn’t a particularly complicated boss as it only really has two moves: jump and smash. The jump is pretty straight forward: big guy jumps into the air; he lands on you, it hurts; he doesn’t land on you, it doesn’t hurt. The best way to avoid this is by dashing as no amount of parrying can stop that from coming down on top of you.

The second attack is the Warden of the Silent Sorrow smacking his candlestick thing on the ground which unfortunately, cannot be parried either. Your best bet is to dash away from him and jump over the vines that come up at you as shown below.

In between those attacks, swing away with your sword and whittle him down to nothing. And that’s it but don’t worry, they get harder… MUCH harder.
