The Outer Worlds only just released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One and it’s been very well received with a current PS4 Metacritic score of 86%. When the team at Obsidian were in the thick of the game’s development, they were surprised to learn that the game could also be developed for Nintendo Switch. Here’s what co-director Leonard Boyarsky had to say to USgamer:

I don’t remember who first came up with that,” Boyarsky tells USgamer in the episode. “It was external to the team. We weren’t sure it could be done. But then they started coming out with all these games on Nintendo Switch, and we thought, ‘Wow, that’s great.’ And then we saw the proof of concept from the external team who was doing it and we were very, very surprised.

The port is being handled by Virtuos who has also been able to get L.A.Noire, Starlink: Battle for Atlas and Dark Souls: Remastered running on the Switch.
